Master of Computer Science (MCS)
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a leader in information technology, offers its Master of Computer Science (MCS) degree entirely online with no required campus visits. All students view the same lectures, and complete the same class assignments, exams, and projects as on-campus students. The degree earned through the online program is the same top-ranked degree awarded to on-campus students. Admission Requirement(s): Applicants to the online program must have sufficient background in computer programming, algorithms and data structures, computer organization, and theory of computation (comparable to CS 125, CS 225, CS 231/232, and CS 173/273 at UIUC). Individuals do not have to be admitted to a degree program in order to enroll in an online course. Only 12 credit hours of coursework completed prior to being admitted to the degree program can be transferred into the program.
