Online Registration for Noncredit Students
Enrollment in noncredit courses is available to anyone who wants to participate in a course for his/her own personal or professional enrichment.  Non-credit students do not have to be admitted to a degree program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
  1. Go to the Online Noncredit Registration system to register for your course.

Noncredit Registration Information
Individuals can enroll in noncredit courses through the Online Noncredit Registration system. Please note that it is the responsibility of the individual to know the cost of enrolling in courses prior to submitting a registration. Course enrollment costs are provided in the course descriptions in the Academic Outreach Course Catalog. In addition, it is the responsibility of the individual to know if a noncredit course has course prerequisites that must be met. Prerequisite information is also listed in the course descriptions. Students may download a Noncredit Enrollment Form and submit by mail or fax if they do not wish to register online.

Academic Outreach reserves the right to cancel a noncredit course because of low enrollments, instructor illness, technology barriers, or other similar reason.

Noncredit Course Drop, Cancellation, and Refund Policies
A student may drop a noncredit course only by submitting a Noncredit Change of Status form.

  • If a student drops a course before the first day of instruction, there is an 80% refund of course costs if Academic Outreach receives the Noncredit Change of Status form by 5 p.m. (CST) the day before the class starts.
  • When a student drops a course (using the Noncredit Change of Status form) after a class has begun, there is no refund.
  • In online courses that are not semester-based and may start any time, a student who submits a Noncredit Change of Status form within two weeks of the enrollment confirmation email from Academic Outreach receives an 80% refund of course costs; there is no refund for dropping a course after that point.
  • If an academic unit or Academic Outreach cancels a noncredit course, all registered students will receive a full (100%) refund.

Noncredit Course Payment Options
Course payment must be received in full before a student will be enrolled in requested noncredit section(s), unless the student is using the company payment option.
Noncredit students do not qualify for student loans or in-school deferments. Academic Outreach accepts the following forms of payment for noncredit courses:

  • Check (Payable to the University of Illinois)
  • Money Order (Payable to the University of Illinois)
  • Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard and Discover)
  • Company/Employer Payment

In order for Academic Outreach to invoice your company/employer for the cost of your noncredit course(s), we must receive a letter on official letterhead from the company, complete with FEIN number and billing address, including a commitment to pay for the specific course. Or forward a copy of your company/employer purchase order or tuition voucher to the address or fax number listed below.

Mail or fax payment directly to:
