Policies and Information for Degree-Seeking Students

Three easy steps to register for a degree program course:

  1. Use the Academic Outreach Course Search to look at available courses. (NOTE: As a degree-seeking student, you may only select courses from the Academic Outreach site.)
  2. Once you have found your course(s), write down the Course Reference Number (CRN) of each course you would like to register in. (For easy access to CRNs, click on 'All Courses.')
  3. Finally, REGISTER for your course(s) online at the UI Integrate/Banner Self-Service System.  Click for an online demo of UI Integrate/Banner Registration.

Dropping Last Course Section

Degree students will be unable to drop their last course section via theUI Integrate/BannerSelf-Service System. To drop the last course section, the student must cancel all course enrollments (prior to the 1st day of class) or withdraw from campus (after the 1st day of class). The main registration menu on the UI Integrate/Banner Self-Service System contains a "Withdraw from Term/Cancel Registration" link.

Graduate College Application: “12-hour Rule”

With departmental approval, you may petition to transfer for degree credit up to, but no more than 12 semester hours of course work. This course work must have earned grades of A or B and have been completed no more than five years prior to your admission to the Graduate College. Admission into a graduate program is required in order to be eligible for a degree and some programs require admission prior to registration for the first course. If you have questions about transfer credit, please contact your department.
