Online Registration

1. Search the GIS courses online. Select the courses you are interested in. You may take no more than three (3) GIS courses at any one time. You may also download a PDF of the current GIS catalog (1.5 MG PDF). However, please refer to the Web site for the most current course information.
2. Verify that you have the appropriate prerequisites.*If you are a University of Illinois student and you wish to enroll in a GIS course, a signature from your college dean is required for enrollment. The GIS program will obtain this on your behalf. Please note that this may take additional time during your enrollment process.
3. If you are enrolling in an online course, make sure you have the necessary Web browser and technical requirements for the selected courses
4. Complete the registration form online. When enrolling online, please do NOT mail the original form to the GIS program. Duplicate applications may result in double enrollments.
5. Payment for tuition and fees must be included with your enrollment form and can be made by check, money order, or credit card (VISA, Discover, or MasterCard). Checks and money orders should be made payable to the University of Illinois.

Mail, by Fax, or in Person Registration

1. Download the official GIS enrollment application. Or you may use the application in the printed GIS catalog.
2. 4. Deliver or mail the completed enrollment form to:

   or fax the form to: 217-333-8524. (If you fax your application, please do NOT mail the original to the GIS program. Duplicate applications may result in double enrollments.)

Credit Transfers to Other Institutions
The credits that you earn through GIS courses normally transfer to other institutions on a basis equal to credits earned on the UIUC campus. However, officials at other colleges and universities must determine which courses will be accepted at their institutions. Be sure to verify in advance whether the course you have selected will be accepted for credit at another institution.
