AT A GLANCE: Information for students enrolled at the University of Illinois
- A signature from your college dean is required for enrollment in a GIS course. The GIS program will obtain this on your behalf. Please note that this may take additional time during your enrollment process.
- You may register for GIS courses at any time during the year—not just during the University of Illinois drop/add periods.
- You can take no more than three GIS courses at one time.
- If you are working toward a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, you may earn up to 60 credit hours with Guided Individual Study courses.
- You may not use University of Illinois financial aid to pay for GIS courses. Some scholarships will pay for GIS courses. See Financial Aid for GIS for more information.
- If you have been dropped by the University of Illinois for either scholastic or disciplinary reasons, you may enroll in GIS courses only with the permission of the dean or the committee responsible for your dismissal. The GIS program can provide the necessary form to be signed by your dean.
