Kids with an interest in art are invited to explore the beauty of nature and art at Allerton. Artist and educator Belinda Beccue will lead students on an exploration of various art media including painting, drawing, sculpting and the use of natural fibers. Space is limited! Allerton Park contains more than 100 pieces of outdoor sculptures and garden ornaments from around the world. Volunteers assist with the periodic maintenance and cleaning of these pieces. Warning: cleaning may require volunteers to work on scaffolding. Workdays will be held indoors if weather becomes too severe.
Volunteers may be removing non-native plants, clearing and marking trails, or some other maintenance of the natural areas. All equipment will be provided, but please bring work gloves if you have them. Warning: may require work around heavy equipment, power tools, and possible exposure to poison ivy.

The evening kicks off with popular music from Zimbabwe by Mhondoro Rhythm Success. Listen to Mbira, guitars, and drums and hear Jit, Chimurenga, Sungura, and Reggae. Big Grove Zydeco will be up next, playing their lively Cajun and Zydeco music. Come and dance along under the evening sky! Food and beverages will be available for purchase, or bring your own picnic!

Spend a summer evening outside listening to Blues and Irish music. Well kick off the evening with some good-old down-home blues by Monticello native, Billy Galt. After a brief break, Bloomsday will take center stage and end out the night with traditional Irish music. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, or bring your own picnic!
